The Kakdwip Research Centre (KRC) of ICAR- CIBA successfully conducted a 15-day training programme for 4th year B.F.Sc. students from the College of Fisheries Science, Birsa Agricultural University, Gumla, Jharkhand. This programme, held from 18th April to 2nd May 2025, was part of the Student READY initiative by the ICAR. The training aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and field-level application by immersing students in practical aspects of aquaculture, including finfish and shellfish breeding, fish nutrition, fish health management, and soil and water quality management. The programme was led by Dr. Debasis De, Head of KRC, as the Course Director, and was efficiently coordinated by Shri Biju I.F, and Dr. Moumita Ash, Scientists of KRC. The comprehensive training and field exposure aimed to enhance the students’ understanding and preparedness for harnessing the potential and facing the challenges in brackishwater aquaculture.
