Brief profile:
After taking masters in Veterinary Microbiology in 1993 and PhD in Veterinary Microbiology in 2007, I am working in CIBA since 2000 on viral pathogens of shrimp and fin fish. I currently work in the division of Aquatic Animal Health and Environment Division in CIBA. My research includes interdisciplinary approaches to diagnose pathogens of shellfish and finfish and to develop suitable control strategies. I worked on detection, development of diagnostics for viral pathogens, fish vaccines and RNAi based therapeutics for aquatic animal health management. I have interests to unravel etiology of emerging disease syndromes and development of diseases free broodstock to produce clean virus free post larvae.
Research areas:
- Molecular viral diagnostics
- Vaccines
- RNAi technology
