ICAR-CIBA successfully organized Swachhta Pakhwada with active participation of scientists, officers, research scholars and other staff members, emphasizing cleanliness, sustainability, and community engagement during 16-31st, December, 2025. The program commenced with the Swachhta Pledge on 16.12.2025, reinforcing the commitment to cleanliness and responsible behavior in both workplace and society. On 17.12.2025 a seminar on “Waste to Wealth” was conducted, highlighting productive ways to convert waste materials into useful products, promoting sustainable practices in daily life. A major focus of the campaign was the weeding out of old files, where obsolete and redundant records were systematically identified and removed, ensuring efficient space utilization and better document management was done on 18.12.2025. On 19.12.2025 the cleanliness and sanitation drive in the office premises ensured de-dusting, cleaning of workstations, proper disposal of waste, and maintenance of hygienic conditions for all employees. In support of environmental conservation, a tree plantation drive was carried out on 22.12.2025 with staff members planting saplings within the office compound, contributing to a greener and cleaner environment.
To recognize the importance of agriculture and farmers in nation-building, Kisan Diwas (Farmers’ Day) was celebrated, creating awareness about the role of farming communities and their contribution to our lives on 23rd December, 2025. For community involvement and to encourage creative expression, a drawing competition was organized on 24.12.2025 at NGRC, Navsari, Gujarat with themes centered on cleanliness and environmental protection, engaging participants of all ages. In continuation of the sustainability theme, a seminar on the “recycling of wastewater” was held on 26.12.2025 to educate participants about technologies and practices for water conservation and reuse. The Pakhwada concluded with an impactful sea beach cleaning programme at Muttu Kadu Experimental station of CIBA on 28.12.2025 where volunteers gathered to remove litter and raise awareness about marine pollution, reinforcing the message of protecting natural resources. Overall, the Swachhta Pakhwada activities successfully fostered a spirit of cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community participation across the office and beyond.
