ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA), Chennai in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nellore-I, Andhra Pradesh organized an off-campus training program on ‘Balanced Use of Fertilizers’ to enhance the Fertilizer Use Efficiency (FUE) along with soil fertility on 28.04.2026 at Patiparthi village, Podlakur Mandal, Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. About 56 farmers attended the training. Subject matter specialists from the KVK and scientists from ICAR-CIBA explained the farmers on the subject covering soil health card-based manure and fertilizer application, use of single super phosphate in lieu of DAP, integrated nutrient management and one health concept for healthy soil, organic and natural farming, healthy fodder for cattle and healthy food for human consumption. Further, CIBA scientists as per the instructions of Dr. Kuldeep K Lal, Director, ICAR-CIBA also informed the farmers that CIBA has developed fish waste-based bio-fertilizer –CIBA Horti+– for boosting the soil fertility which can be made available on request basis.
