Amid  COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown situations at Chennai, ICAR – Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA, Chennai) celebrated sixth international day of Yoga on 21st June 2020, adhering to this year’s theme “Yoga at home, Yoga with family”. For the first time since it was instituted on June 21, 2015, Yoga Day has gone digital this year. The program included a practical demonstration on simplified yoga techniques at home, by Ms. Janani Subburaj, Yoga trainer from ‘Chennai Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College’, daughter of Dr. R.  Subburaj, Senior Technical Officer of CIBA. During the home yoga session with family at home, CIBA’s Staff and Scientists along with research scholars actively participated from the safety of their homes. The event was organised to motivate how to stay active and healthy amidst this COVID-19 lockdown period. The yoga session started with a note on importance of yoga to boost our immunity followed by the common yoga protocols prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH.  All the participants expressed happy about the significance of  this programme and the need to practice yoga regularly, especially in the wake of Covid-19. This yoga day was also celebrated at our Kakdwip regional centre of CIBA at West Bengal and Navsari Gujarat Research Centre of CIBA, Gujarat availing the online live streaming facility.
