ICAR-CIBA, Chennai in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Andhra Pradesh organized an outreach activity on the effective management of shrimp diseases, such as Ecytonucleospora hepatopenaei (EHP) and White Feces Syndrome (WFS), through the phytobiotic solution ‘CIBA EHP cura’ at Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh on 19.11.2025. Around 110 farmers attended the programme. This programme was funded by the NFDB, Govt. of India.

Dr T. Sathish Kumar, Senior Scientist and team lead, presented effective management strategies for EHP and WFS with a special emphasis on ‘CIBA EHP Cura’ – a phytobiotic solution. He shared field evaluation results demonstrating the product’s efficacy and highlighted the role of the formulation in enhancing the shrimp health and growth performance.

Dr Sankar Rao, Director, Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA), delivered a talk on the latest updates on rules and regulations of CAA for sustainable shrimp aquaculture.

During the meeting, the product was provided to six farmers for demonstration purposes. ICAR-CIBA Scientists also engaged in an interactive question and answer session, addressing the queries and concerns of the farmers regarding disease management practices, feeding strategies and biosecurity measures.

Dr S. Anjali, Additional Director, Principal, SIFT, Department of Fisheries, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. P.V. Srinivasa Rao, District Fisheries Officer, Department of Fisheries, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Desam Setty Lakshminarayan, Director, APSADA, and Mr. Nagasrinivas, Director, APSADA, attended the meeting and addressed the farmers.
