ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) conducted the Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 during 26th October to 1st November 2021. A week long program was arranged with theme of the year ‘Independent India @ 75, self-reliance with integrity’. The one week programme on Vigilance awareness include: pledge on the first day followed by competitions on essay writing, elocution, quiz and drawing for competition the staff, students and their children. On the first day, Director In-charge, CIBA pronounced the pledge to all the staff of the institute. Participants were also encouraged to take e-pledge by directly logging on to Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) website.

The essay competition with the theme ‘The role of citizens in making India self-reliant’, and elocution competition with the theme ‘How to eradicate corruption in India?’ were held in which both scholars and scientists of the institute participated. Quiz program was conducted on vigilance commission, guidelines, acts and rules of the government of India. A drive was undertaken to spread awareness regarding the provisions under the PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers) resolution as well as all related information. Research scholars of CIBA participated in the drive actively in the public area.

The valedictory programme was held on 1st Nov 2021, Dr. T. Ravisankar, Director In-charge, in his presidential address stressed the need for including the vigilance as part of our daily life. Prizes were distributed for top three positions in each competitions held in the week-long program. The programs of the awareness week were coordinated by Dr. P.K. Patil, Vigilance Officer, ICAR-CIBA, Chennai.
