Swatchha Pakhwada at Kokilamedhu, CIBA Adopted MGMG village on 20th OCT 2016

A programme on sanitation and cleanliness under Swatchhta Pakhwada was organized on 20th October 2016 at Panchayat Union Middle School, Kokilamedu village (adopted MGMG village), Thirukazhukundram block, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu. Mrs. R. Vasanthi, Head Mistress welcomed the gathering. Mr. D. Natarajan, panchayat union leader of the village introduced the CIBA team to the students and spoke on personal cleanliness. Mr. R. Narayanan, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) leader stressed the importance of sanitation and hygiene. Dr. Mrs. P. Mahalakshmi, Sr. Scientist and Nodal Officer Swatchh Bharat Mission of CIBA gave a talk on a novel initiative Swatch Bharat Mission initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and its aim and objectives. Sh. N. Jaganmohan Raj, Technical Officer and member of Swatch Bharat Mission of CIBA gave the students hands on training on hygienic practices such as wearing mask and gloves during cleanliness programme.
Dr. D. Deboral Vimala, Principal Scientist and Mr. J. Ashok Kumar, Scientist conducted an Elocution Competition on the topic "SUTHAM SUGAM THARUM" (cleanliness is next to godliness). Out of 9 students participated best three students were given the prizes. Cleaning materials such as broom sticks, dustbins, buckets, mugs etc., were distributed to the school for future maintenance. Followed by cleanliness campaign was organized at school premises with active participation of the students. One hundred nineteen participants including students, teachers, panchayat leader, PTA, Non-Government Organization and CIBA team participated in the programme.
