We provide consultancy services on aquaculture, aquatic disease diagnsotics, fish nutrition and environmental assessments as per ICAR guidelines.Major areas of consultancy services provided by us are:

Consultancy services completed earlier

  • Extension of consultancy on CIBA shrimp feed technology to Bismi Feeds (P) Ltd., O.S.M. Nagar, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam Dist., Tamil Nadu. (Dr.S.A.Ali)
  • Ring test was organised for harmonisation of PCR test by PCR labs at the request of MPEDA.
  • Personal Services Agreement Consultancy Project on Socio-economic dimensions of seaweed farming in India from Aquaculture Service, Fisheries & Aquaculture Resources Use and Conservation Division, FIRA, Fisheries and Aquaculture Department, FAO of UN. (Dr. M.Krishnan, Principal Scientist, CIBA and Dr.R.Narayanakumar, Senior Scientist, CMFRI, Kochi)
  • Consultancy programme on the “Survey and demarcation of sea water inundated areas for eco-friendly aquaculture in Andaman and Nicobar Islands” was undertaken for the Department of Fisheries, A & N Administration, Port Blair.(Dr.S.M.Pillai)
  • UNDP Consultancy on Best practices for brackishwater aquaculture in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu / Infrastructure support facilities – present status and future needs for capture and culture fisheries, harvest – post harvest and market support in Orissa. (Dr.P.Ravichandran)
  • A consultancy for testing lignin products as binder in shrimp feed has been undertaken for M/s Asia Lignin Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., Navimumbai, Maharashtra state. (Dr.S.A.Ali)
  • Status and environment impact assessment of shrimp farming in Diu for Coastal Aquaculture Authority, Chennai. (Dr.B.P.Gupta and Dr.M.Muralaidhar)
  • The technology developed for large-scale seahass seed production was transferred through Institutional consultancy to the RajivGandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA). Myiladuthurai, under MPEDA. The techniques of broodstock development and management, maturation and spawning,larval and nursery rearing were demonstrated and 3 lakh seed were produced. (Dr.A.R.Thirunavukkarasu and team)
