CIBA signs MoU with Shri.M.K.Abdulla for technical support and partnership farming for development of farming models suitable for brackishwater

ICAR- Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Chennai signed an MOU with Shri.M.K.Abdulla and his associates from Padanna, Kasaragod for technical partnership and assistance relating to innovative sustainable brackishwater farming model including the development of vannamei farming on 10th February 2016 at CIBA, Chennai.

The objective of this MoU is to develop innovative brackishwater farming models and to develop a sustainable polyculture/ Integrated Multi Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) model with L. vannamei farming and other species combinations. CIBA will provide scientific support and technical collaboration to the client to develop innovative brackishwater farming models. Dr. K.K.Vijayan, Director, CIBA and Shri.M.K.Abdulla signed the MoU. Dr.C.Gopal, Principal Scientist & Head, Crustacean Culture Division, Dr.P.S.Shyne Anand, Scientist and three farmers from Padanna, Kasaragod were also present on the occasion.

Initially Dr. T. Ravisankar, PS and SIC, ITMU, welcomed the gathering and gave a brief about the MoU being signed.
