KNOWLEDGE PARTNERSHIP ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFER OF NEW GENERATION INDIGENOUS FORMULATED SHRIMP FEED ON PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP) MODE

ICAR-CIBA, Chennai and Revelations Biotech Private Limited, Hyderabad, signed MOU on 12th November 2015.

ICAR- Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Chennai Signed a MOU with M/S. Revelations Biotech Private Limited, Hyderabad for the development and technology transfer of ‘New Generation Formulated Shrimp-feed’ on 12th November 2015. Revelations Biotech Private Limited is presently engaged in providing advanced scientific solutions in the areas of Enzyme Engineering, Molecular Diagnostics, Molecular biology, X-Ray Structure Analysis and Structure Guided Drug Design. The company has developed a unique feed additive that helps in improving the growth and FCR of shrimp, and interested to develop new generation feeds with the inclusion of the novel feed additive. Having identified the expertise and track record of CIBA in feed biotechnology, formulated feed development and technology transfer, M/S Revelations Biotech Private Limited sought the knowledge partnership in development of new generation shrimp feeds, and entered into an MOU with CIBA on PPP mode. Dr. T. Ravisankar, PS and SIC, ITMU, gave a brief about the MoU being signed for shrimp feed processing and production and welcomed the gathering. Dr. K.K. Vijayan, Director, CIBA highlighted the significance of this unique technology transfer cum collaborative research involving the client, who is already into research and development, as an opportunity for CIBA and the client to harness the collective strength of each other for the benefit of the farmer. Dr. Ravichandra Beeram, Managing Director, Revelations biotech Private Limited, highlighted his firm’s initiative in advanced scientific solution and emphasized the synergy between CIBA and Revelations Biotech Private Limited in providing indigenous and novel solutions to the aqua farmers in providing cost effective shrimp feed. Dr. K. Ambasankar, Principal scientist and Team leader of this program highlighted the opportunity in this new public private initiative towards the development of cost effective and new generation indigenous shrimp feed, for the benefit Indian shrimp farming sector. Dr. M. Muralidhar, Principal Scientist gave vote of thanks.
