Molecular kit for the detection of ammonia oxidizing bacteria associated with aquatic environment and ammonia-removing bacterial products (Open for exclusive basis)

  • Nitrifying bacteria are extremely slow growing organisms, which play an important role in detoxification of ammonia and nitrite into harmless nitrate. They occur in low numbers in aquaculture and agricultural environments and are difficult to be detected in environmental samples by traditional methods. The molecular kit developed by the institute is accurate and sensitive to detect ammonia oxidizing bacteria (chemoautotrophs) in aquaculture as well as in agriculture environments and also ammonia removing bacterial products. This kit obviates the requirement of a large quantity of samples. The technology can be transferred within three months.
