ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA), Chennai observed ‘Vigilance Awareness Week- 2025’ from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 with the main theme of Vigilance – Shared Responsibility of all.

On 27th October 2025 the Vigilance Pledge was taken by all Scientists and Staff of ICAR- CIBA through hybrid mode including Muttukadu Experimental Station, Kakdwip Research Centre and Navsari Gujarat Research Centre under the leadership of Dr Kuldeep Kumar Lal Director, ICAR CIBA. After this pledge Dr Kuldeep Kumar Lal addressed the house regarding importance of Vigilance in official activities.

As a part of the observation of Vigilance Awareness Week the institute conducted Drawing Competition for the children of CIBA staff members and also organized competitions like quiz, cartoon drawing, essay writing, slogan writing etc to all its staff members and distributed prizes and certificates for the winners.

On 31st October 2025 a special function was organized for prize and Certificate distribution under the Chairmanship of Dr M Kailasam, Head, Finfish Culture Division (FCD). Thiru.P Mahendran, IPS Superintendent of Police, Department of Vigilance and Anti-corruption Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai was the Chief Guest.  He addressed the gathering on the Importance of Vigilance and the shared responsibility of all in curbing corruption through a presentation and short Video film. He gave away the certificates and prizes to all the winners.

Dr T Ravisankar PS and Scientist-In-Charge, Social science Division, made a presentation on RTI – Myths and Truths.

Dr M Kailasam, HoD FCD in his address explained to the audience on ways and means the ICAR-CIBA is taking to curb corruption and the role of Vigilance in their administration process.

Dr D Deboral Vimala, PS, Social science Division proposed the vote of thanks.
