Dr. Sanjay Kumar Gupta has been graduated (B.F.Sc.) from College of Fisheries, Panangad under Kerala Agriculture University (2004). I accomplished M.F.Sc. in Fish Nutrition and Biochemistry (2006) and Doctoral program in Aquaculture (2010) from ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai. I have made significant contributions to the field of fish nutrition and physiology, resulting in the development of innovative feed formulations, aimed at enhancing growth performance of cold-water fishes at ICAR-DCFR, Experimental field center Champawat, Uttarakhand, during 2010-2015. Using molecular biology and computational techniques, the effectiveness of various immunostimulants as a potent nutraceutical supplements was established in terms of disease resistance in carps at ICAR- Indian Institute of Agriculture Biotechnology, Ranchi, Jharkhand during 2015-2025. Pragmatic impetus to create a sustainable drive by testing alternatives for fish meal and fish oil in feed with alternative unconventional ingredients for cost effective feed development was established. The scale feed formulations developed using graded levels of natural herbal extract/functional feed demonstrated positive impact on growth, physiology as well as immune performances of fish. Dr. Gupta has developed green and sustainable technology to tackle the issue of emerging concerns of aquatic environment associated with contamination of heavy metals and thermal stress. I have been transferred from ICAR-IIAB, Ranchi to Kakdwip Research Center of ICAR-CIBA in public interest and presently serving as Senior Scientist with effect from February., 2025.
