Night mode

A field exposure visit to the Muttukadu Experimental Station (MES) of ICAR-CIBA was undertaken on 17th May 2022 by 19 under graduate students along with two faculty members from the College of Fisheries, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, Punjab. The visit was arranged for students as a part of their curriculum to create awareness about the latest developments in the field of fisheries, aquaculture and its allied sectors. Dr. D. Deboral Vimala, Principal Scientist, Social Sciences Division, briefed the students about the experimental activities and infrastructure in MES, Muttukadu and the technological support and delivery mechanisms by which the institute laudably transferring technical know-how and do-how to fish/shrimp farmers. Later, Shri. G. Thiagarajan, Technical officer, Fish Culture Division, and Shri. S. Rajamanickam, Senior Technical Officer, Crustacean Culture Division, explained in detail about the ongoing fish and shrimp hatchery research activities. The students also witnessed the feed mill facilities of the station, and Shri. T. Sivaramakrishnan, Scientist, Nutrition Genetics and Biotechnology Division, briefed the students about the functioning of the feed mill and its facilities. As an environment-friendly gesture, the students planted tree saplings at the institute premises. This field exposure visit was coordinated by Dr. D.
