On 21st March 2022, four faculty members, 30 under graduation and 20 post-graduation students from Microbiology Department, SRM Arts College, Kattankulathur and Chennai made an industrial visit to Muttukadu Experimental Station (MES) of ICAR CIBA.  The objective of the visit was to learn practical learning based on the extension concept of ‘“Seeing is believing” and through interaction with the scientists of the institute. The visit started with a brief introduction about the Muttukadu field activities and infrastructural facilities available in the station by Shri. K.P. Sandeep, Scientist In-Charge, MES of CIBA. Later, Dr. Senthil Murugan, Principal Scientist, Fish Culture Division and Shri. S. Rajamanickam, Assistant Chief Technical Officer, Crustacean Culture Division explained in detail about the on-going fish and shrimp hatchery research activities to the students. Dr. D. Deboral Vimala, Principal Scientist, Social Sciences Division briefed the students about the various technology delivery mechanisms viz., skill development training programmes, demonstrations and timely supply of inputs through SCSP and TSP programmes by which the institute technologies are effectively transferred to shrimp/fish farmers. The students witnessed the feed mill and farming facilities of the station. Tree sapling was planted at the institutional premises by the active participation of the students. This Industrial visit was coordinated by Dr. D. Deboral Vimala, PS, SSD and Shri, K.P. Sandeep, SIC, MES Muttukadu.
