ICAR- Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai organised special lecture on water quality in aquaculture as part of the National Science Day celebrations on 28th February 2022.A batch of forty five post-graduate students and staff from Women Christian College, Chennaienthusiastically participated in the programme.To inculcate the concept of green environment and healthier ecosystem among the students, the visitors were asked to plant trees in the Muttukadu Experimental Station campus of CIBA. Dr.D.Deboral Vimala,Principal Scientist, Social Sciences Division,sensitized the students about the lab-to-land and land-to-lab activities of the institute.Dr. R. Saraswathy, Principal Scientist, Aquatic Animal Health and Environment Division delivered a talk on ‘Water quality for aquaculture’. The students were trained on water sample collection from ponds for analysis. Shri.K.P.Sandeep, Scientist In-charge, MES Muttukadu explained the research activities being undertakenat the station.The students were exposed on the seed production, feed processing and farming facilities at the station.
